We wanted to divert water from a creek/canal (1-D RAS component) into a wetland area that was defined as a 2-D area. The diversion was a muted tide gate where we want to control the times at which the gate opened and closed as the tide entered the wetland and canal. As of right now, you can not define rules on a lateral structures that link a 1-D area to a 2-D storage area. HEC is aware of this and is working to add it into (hopefully) the next release. One work-around is to define a short reach that connects your 1-D and 2-D components and use an inline structure on the short reach. You can define rules at the inline structure.

Hopefully that helpsDan C.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12401585058172658986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1675184707067447729.post-73706902319584511022016-06-07T13:18:09.154-07:002016-06-07T13:18:09.154-07:00Thanks Kinga. I've tried to do this but I'm not able to input initial conditions for groups of gates. In Rule Operations/Gate Paremeters/Location there's nothing to choose. I've input Operation rules, however calculation are not possible without initial conditions (which is quite obvious). Am I doing something wrong or it's just a problem with 5.0.1v? Does anyone has the same problem?

Greetings
Kinga

P.S.
